Hi, I’m Megan —
Founder and Clinical Director at DBT HQ

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for helping people get unstuck, so they can get out there and live more fulfilling lives.

I specialize in behavioral therapy, specifically Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a structured, skills-based approach that’s backed by research and built for real life.

Families and individuals usually come to us when they’re dealing with some degree of disconnection — everything from anxiety and depression to eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, suicidality, and emotional chaos in general.

Some have tried therapy before. Some are trying it for the first time. All of them are looking for something that’s more than talk.

My Background

I’ve spent the last decade helping people learn how to feel their feelings without being ruled by them.

I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University, and completed my MSW from the Columbia School of Social Work (CSSW) at Columbia University. There, I was accepted into the year-long Dialectical Behavior Training Program and Lab — the only program of its kind in a school that was largely devoted to social work.

Over the next year, I received intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, and completed a clinical internship at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens, New York.

After completing that program, I went on to practice comprehensive DBT and a multitude of behavioral therapies for several years at practices around New Jersey and New York serving adolescents, adults, and families. Now, I’m excited to be returning home to the Detroit area to found DBT HQ.

My Approach

Behavioral therapy is a collaborative, action-driven process — and yes, there will be homework.

My approach is direct and compassionate. But I’m also not going to nod politely and validate everything you say week after week.

Together, we’ll build practical skills for managing distress, regulating emotions, improving relationships, and navigating life in a way that feels more intentional and less overwhelming.

It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. And you don’t have to do it alone.

Our Services

We work with patients ages 12 and up, and offer support for every aspect of the family system. Progress is something we’ll work on together.

Payment & Insurance

A few things to know before we get started.

DBT HQ is an out-of-network provider, which means we don’t bill insurance directly.
But that doesn’t mean you’re on your own.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1:

You pay at the time
of service. We accept
most major credit
cards and HSAs.

Step 2:

We provide a
detailed superbill
(a receipt with all
the right codes).

Step 3:

You submit it to
your insurance for
out-of-network
reimbursement.

Many clients receive partial reimbursement—some, depending on their plan, get most of it back.
